…it’s exactly what you think it is.  It does’nt have to be in a shot glass  but you can get one at a handful of cupcake stores around the country - a short-but-sweet pick-me-up, the frosting without the cupcake.

For a small fee, you get a dollop of you favorite frosting in a paper or plastic cup. At some cupcake shops the frosting shot is actually a menu item, but if it’s not on the menu at your local cupcake bakery try asking, you just might for a dollop of your favorite frosting to go…

According to a report at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25782308/,  Sprinkles Cupcakes in Scottsdale, Ariz., the store sells at least a dozen shots of buttercream frosting daily at 75-cent a shot.

What are you favorite cupcake toppings? Where do you get your frosting shot?

One Response to “What is a Frosting Shot?”

  1. Ethelle Sanchez Says:

I really enjoy frosting shots, I find that they are an incredibly effective way of “fluffing” my waist line. I mean, why bother with the cupcake or even pretend that you are eating for the purpose of nourishment when you can just eat flavored sugar!

Sometimes I don’t stop at just one shot, but I mix and match 9 or a dozen different flavors. It provides me with more variety than just a plain tub of icing.

Does anyone have any pictures they can share?
