I bought a Pillsbury brand boxed lemon cake and I don't know what kind of frosting goes with it. Please help!

I was thinkging cream cheese , for some reason. My husband has never had lemon cake. I have been saying how good it is, so I don't want to screw it up.

I made a cupcake cake for my child's birthday using regular store bought frosting. It wasn't thick or sturdy enough to span the gaps between the cupcakes and we had "sinkholes". What kind of frosting would work best?
