In this video, Betty demonstrates how to help a child enjoy cooking by helping her grandson, Carter, make cupcakes for his birthday. Carter is 4 years old today, and he will be celebrating his birthday with his classmates at school today. Carter needed to bring 2 dozen cupcakes for the students and teachers, so I made those, but I made enough batter for Carter to "play" at making and decorating 2 dozen more. My suggestion is that when you are making something like cupcakes with a child of Carter's age, that you purchase cake mix(es), ready-to-spread frosting, and candy sprinkles. You should do any work with an electric mixer, and have the batter ready before involving the child. Then, you can let the child stir the batter, perhaps spoon some of the batter into baking cups, spread the frosting, and decorate the cupcakes with sprinkles. We decided to make one of the batches by putting a layer of chocolate batter on the bottom and a layer of yellow batter over it, and then using a small knife to "marble" it. You need to handle all of the putting in and getting out of the oven yourself, and be sure to put away sharp knifes, or other instruments. This can be a fun learning experience for the child, but don't expect the child to do everything perfectly! (I do want to mention that I stated a couple of times that I was using a teaspoon for dipping the batter, when actually it was a tablespoon!) Go with something that is more creative and that you will love showing off to your friends and family. Finding the right individual to make it is important. On the other hand, you don't want to have lots of cake left over because that is a waste of money. You want to make sure you have enough of it to go around. There are some great choices out there today that you may want to consider off the beaten path. You can also look at pictures in any give bakery to see what they have to offer.

Finding a wedding cake you love is going to take some time so doesn’t put it off until the last minute.

I am trying to buy a cupcake cake for my stepdaughter and cousin. I am looking a good place where the cupcakes are going to taste just as good as the cake looks. I am in Chicago and Google is not that much of a help.
